How To Jury Your Work
Potential members should bring a minimum of 3-5 samples of their work for evaluation by the Jury committee. You will have an opportunity to tell the committee how your crafting process takes place, etc. Works will be screened by a jury of no less than three Guild members, with experience in different media. The work will be evaluated on the following criteria:
* Quality (Workmanship, attention to detail) Scale 1-10
* Originality (Creativity and use of medium) Scale 1-5
* Appearance (Aesthetic appeal) Scale 1-5
The scores will be combined and averaged for a final score. Applicants meeting the minimum score of 14 out of 20 will be accepted into the Guild with all the opportunities, benefits and information of membership.
Jurying takes place between 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the nights of the monthly meeting. Jurying is not held during November or December.
Applicants should set up their items between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. No new items will be accepted after 6:30 p.m.
We realize that not everyone is able to have their crafts juried on our scheduled meeting days. The LVCG accepts applicants to jury by sending 5-8 clear pictures of their work to lasvegascraftersguild.com. Please send a detailed description along with each photo. We may request to view the actual items in photos before making final decisions on extending an invitation to join the Guild.
